Colleen Lazere has been a member of the Huron Board of Education since 1994. In addition to her seat on the Board of Education, she sits on the Facilities Committee and is the chair person of the Huron Township Parks and Recreation Commission. Colleen holds a science degree in medical technology and is a technical consultant for Physicians Office Laboratories. Colleen is married and has four children, all of which have graduated from Huron Schools.

Jack T. Richert has been a life long resident of Huron Township. This alumnus of Huron High School joined the Board of Education in 2002. Currently Jack serves as chair of the Facilities Committee. Jack holds a Bachelor's Degree in Human Behavior; Business Administration; Healthcare Administration from Eastern Michigan University. He is currently employed by Special Tree Rehabilitation Services and has been for 15 years in Marketing and Public Relations. Jack is married and has three Children.

Alice Ferguson has been a Board Member since 1994. Alice serves on the Finance Committee and the LEAD Team. Prior to joining the Board, this long time Huron Resident retired from the school district after 30 years of service (1964-1994) which included being elected as president to represent the support staff Teamster�s Union. Alice has two children that are now grown and an extended family that has many roots in the community.

Ken Appleby has been a resident of Huron Township since 1987 and a member of the Huron Board of Education since 1991. Currently, he serves as trustee of the Board and is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee and the LDFA. Ken is a graduate of the University of Michigan and is a (CPHRM) Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management and (ARM) Associate in Risk Management. He is currently employed by the Detroit Medical Center as a Risk Manager and Claim Consultant. Ken has had three daughters graduate from Huron Schools.

Richard Zavodsky was first elected to the Huron Board of Education in June of 1990. This most senior member of the Board serves as chair of the Finance Committee and serves on the LDFA Committee. Mr.Zavodsky is active at the county level. This Ford Motor Company employee has his Ph.D. Richard is married and has been a Huron Township resident for many years. Richard is married to Visteon Race Car Driver Audrey Zavodsky.

Mrs. Trena Szawara and her husband have lived in New Boston for almost 21 years. They have a son and daughter who also attend the Huron School District. Mrs. Szawara served as the Brown Elementary PTO President for four years. She is employed by AT&T as a communications assistant for the hearing impaired. She is looking forward to serving on the Board of Education for the next four years.
