Letter of the Week:
April 28th – No letter. We will practice words: we, not, get, can, you, but.

NO School: May 9th and 26th.

Special Awards:Starting Friday, May 2nd your child can have his/her picture taken and put on Mrs. Matsos’ special bulletin board.

Young Five students: Must know all the letters in their name.

Kindergarten students: Must recognize all the letters (upper and lower case) and all sounds.

Bookfair: Thanks to all the parents who volunteered. We really appreciate it! Oakwoods Field Trip: Please return permission slip and $4.00 by Wednesday, May 14th.

End of Year Picnic: Wednesday, June 11th 9:00 AM -12:00 PM (PM comes then also). Please return information sheet so we can plan.

Leaps and Bounds - Preschool Session: (parent stays with child) for fun activities with a consultant from Wayne County Intermediate School District. May 5th, 12th, and 19th From 10:00 – 11:00 at Sunnyside

School times: New hours will be 8:50 – 12:03 and 12:43 – 3:56. Please sign in at the office if you are late. DO NOT disturb the classroom. Thank you for your cooperation.

Student dress: Please dress your child appropriately for the weather. We go outside for recess daily unless it is too wet.

Appropriate Footwear: All students must wear appropriate closed toe shoes or boots. NO open toe shoes are allowed. They are unsafe for the playground use. Thank you for your cooperation.

Staying in for Recess: Outside activity and exercise is important. Please do not request that your child stay in for recess unless you have a doctor’s note. If there are special circumstances please speak with Mrs. Matsos. Thank you for your cooperation.

Kindergarten 2008/2009: If your child will be 5 years old on or before December 1st you can register for Kindergarten. Packets are available in the office.

Lost and Found: Please check our bin if you are missing items.

Kindergarten Enrichment and Before and After School Care (Kid’s Zone for grades K-5): Is available at Sunnyside – provided by the YWCA. Please call 313-537-8500 for details.
